Dance has a rich language of expression, combinations,movements and positions involving the feet, limbs and body, along with hand gestures and facial expressions.

Hasta mudra means hand gestures adopted during Asana, Pranayama and Meditation that direct flow of energy into our body.The human body comprises of five basic elements. 

The Pancha Tatvas, the five fingers of the hand Thumb is fire, Index finger is air, Middle finger is Space, Ring finger is earth and the little finger is water.

Kapota mudra is the same as Anjali mudra, except that hands are joined in a cupped position palms touching at the tips of fingers and at the base.It indicates acceptance, obedience, fragility.

Respectful salutations conversation with teachers or Guru.Related to heart, when placed at the heart centre it stimulates the Heart Chakra (Anahata Chakra). Kapota mudra is purely a way of greeting.Kapota means white bird, dove.It symbolizes peace.

Kapota mudra benefits the following muscles and hence can be included in yoga.Kapota is yoga's iconic mudra.
